There is really no reason to buy a store bough cajun seasoning when you can easily make this Whole30 and Paleo Cajun Spice Mix at home with common spices from your pantry. I also like to make my own because a lot of the store bough brands have hidden sugar and other questionable ingredients.
This recipe is so simple, just whisk together ingredients and store in an air tight container. If you like your cajun recipes with more of a kick, make sure to add a little more cayenne.
When buying spices, I always try to buy organic to avoid any chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides. I usually buy Simply Organic Gourmet spices but any organic spice works!
This spice mix is perfect to use when making my Cajun Shrimp and Vegetable recipe.
Cajun Spice Mix (Whole30 & Paleo)Print Recipe
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp thyme
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 1 tsp cayenne add more for additional heat
- Stir together all spices until evenly blended. Store in an airtight container.
