5 Tips to Lose Weight Sustainably

Are you struggling with weight loss? Have you done a bunch of fad dieting and can’t seem to find something that works for you?  Unfortunately, you are not alone.

But, I have a few simple tips that can help you lose weight, feel good and not spend your life constantly battling with food. It’s actually a lot simpler than you would think. I have 5 tips that have helped my clients keep the weight off for good.

1. Eat Real Food

You really are what you eat! The most simple and sustainable way to lose weight is to fill your plate with real food. Whole foods are nutrient dense, nourishing and satiating. So many fad diets have turned to meal replacement shakes and low calorie processed foods. This means your “diet” is filled with highly processed foods that are filled with fake ingredients that are actually damaging to the body, lead to cravings and leave your body depleted of nutrients.

2. Balance Your Blood Sugar

Having balanced blood sugar has a huge impact on your body and can help you lose weight and keep it off. Keeping your blood sugar spikes at a minimum leads to more energy, feeling satiated for longer and reduced cravings. With more energy to move your body and less cravings, it’s a great way to keep weight off, enhance your quality of life and improve your overall health and longevity!

3. Move Your Body

Finding a way to move your body that is enjoyable for you is so important in weight loss. If you find yourself dreading your workouts or struggle staying in the routine of exercise then you should try something different that you actually look forward to doing! Beyond just burning calories, daily movement has a vast number of additional health benefits leading to more energy and a happier and healthier life.

4. Add, Don’t Restrict

Dieting is not the way to sustainably lose weight. By constantly restricting yourself, it simply heightens your awareness of all the things you can’t eat. Instead of restricting foods, think of adding a new food into your diet every week. Try a new animal protein you don’t normally cook or new fruits and veggies you typically don’t grab at the store. Eat foods that make you feel good and on occasion, eat the cookie. This allows you to get a wider variety of nutrients into your diet, increases the likelihood of success in your weight loss journey and allows you to eat foods you love on occasion.

5. Find a Plan that Works For YOU

There is not a one-size-fits all approach to nutrition or weight loss. Everyone’s bodies need something different and finding that perfect balance for you is the key. It is important to listen to your body, because what works for one person might not work for you. If you’re struggling finding this nutrition plan on your own, I am here to help you develop a sustainable nutrition and lifestyle plan.
