Paleo Sesame Shrimp

This Paleo Sesame Shrimp is the perfect way to satisfy a takeout craving without the guilt of eating takeout. This recipe is healthy, paleo and will leave you feeling amazing after eating. Its also a very quick recipe that comes together in just 10-15 minutes. I love serving it over rice and with a side of broccoli. The honey adds a little bit of sweetness with a touch of spice from the red pepper flakes.

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 3 tsp fresh ginger minced
  • 2 tsp arrowroot flour
  • 2 tbsp cold water
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds
  • Spring onions for topping

  • In a small bowl, whisk together together coconut aminos, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, garlic powder, red pepper flakes and ginger.
  • In a separate small bowl, mix together arrowroot + cold water to make a slurry. until smooth. Pour mixture into the sauce and whisk together to combine.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add avocado oil evenly over pan. Add shrimp to the pan and sear on each side for 2-3 minutes until fully cooked. To avoid overcooking, promptly remove the shrimp from the pan onto a plate and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to low. Whisk the sauce together once again and add to the pan. Allow the sauce to thicken, stirring frequently for 2-3 minutes. Once sauce is thickened, add the shrimp back to the pan and evenly coat the shrimp with the sauce. There will be excess sauce to drizzle over broccoli and rice.

  1. 5 stars
Super quick and yummy recipe which I always love. I think next time I would like to double the sauce recipe so I can have sauce on my broccoli and rice! 🙂

  2. Sooooo good! I was thinking the same thing as Natalie that I want more of the sauce for the other parts of the meal. I could drink it- so tasty. Also a very simple easy meal with a lot of staple ingredients. Definitely will be a frequent dinner in our house!!
